Slack
The conference chair Slack was the centrepiece in my graduation project at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design in 1999. Being a contextual designer already back then, the fact that I was leaving the safe haven of Konstfack was my concept, scared as I was by having to face what I imagined was formal and strict “reality”. The Slack chair was a take on how I wished those formal situations should be.
Slack was a collaboration with Swedish brand Miljöexpo AB, and my first product put into industrial production. It was never a commercial success during its years in production (except with a couple of advertising and pr-agencies). In 2000 the chair was awarded “Excellent Swedish Design”.
