Rialto
The Rialto family has its origin in a field trip to Venice. The experience of the angled, edgy shape of the famous Rialto bridge inspired creation of this iconic chair, regarded by many as a trendsetter. The chair with its typical “bag-hanger”, has nowadays become a familiar acquaintance in public spaces and among design connoisseurs.
The Rialto series was my first commission from my long term client NC. The first pieces, the tables, were designed in 2000. The chair was designed in 2002. In addition to the original chair, a stackable version bearing the same name, was later developed.
