Inspired by scenography aesthetics from film director Michael Gondry, childhood brick building and the attitude of the DIY movement, the idea was to design a series of seats and side tables so raw that you could start wondering what had been designed and what was there just out of necessity for using or constructing the piece. (The aim was to create objects so simplified that only pure function is left.)

The project was originally created as an experimental studio project, designed together with long term friend and colleague Matti Klenell back in 2007. But from 2010, and a couple of years onwards, Rowdy was included in the collection of David Design AB.
